What is Prolozone?

Prolozone Therapy

Prolozone Therapy is a injection technique similar to prolotherapy that uses ozone. It is excellent for all forms of musculo-skeletal and joint pain including chronic neck and back pain, rotator cuff injuries, degenerative and arthritic hips and knees, degenerated discs, and shoulder and elbow pain. The great thing about Prolozone is that it actually corrects the pathology of the disorder, and there is a 60-80% chance chronic pain sufferers become permanently pain free.

What is Prolozone therapy?

Prolozone therapy is derived from the Latin word "proli" which means to regenerate or rebuild, and the word ozone. "Prolo" is short for proliferation, because the treatment, which uses injections of ozone, causes the proliferation (growth, formation) of new cartilage and connective tissue in areas where it has become weak or damaged. The response to treatment varies from person to person, but most people only need from 5-10 treatments.

Conditions That Can Be Treated With Prolozone

Prolozone therapy works on just about any pain problem you might have, including: neck pain, low back pain, whiplash, degenerated or herniated discs, plantar fascitis, heel spurs, carpal tunnel syndrome, torn tendons, TMJ syndrome, sciatica, neuromas, tennis elbow, rotator cuff tears, knee injuries, and any other sports injury. Because Prolozone treatments also result in cartilage regeneration, the technique is also remarkably effective even for severe cases of osteo‑arthritis of the hip or knee. The good thing about Prolozone therapy is that it is not just a treatment for pain. The results actually represent a permanent fix.

Why is Ozone Used?

Ozone is a naturally-occurring highly reactive molecule consisting of three atoms of oxygen. Because ozone is so reactive, it is able to stimulate fibroblastic and chondroblastic activity to an almost unbelievable extent. This high level of reactivity, combined with the innate safety of oxygen, makes ozone the ideal therapeutic molecule.

What Can I Expect?

The response to treatment varies from individual to individual, and depends upon one’s healing ability and level of injury. Some people may only need one to two treatments, while others may need as many as six or seven. Once you being treatment, the doctor can analyze how you are responding, and will then be able to give you an accurate estimate of what you can expect from further treatments. The inject process is repeated every 1-2 weeks until maximum improvement is noted. Prolozone Therapy typically results in a complete absence of symptoms, even in severe pain conditions that have been present for years. And, the most amazing thing about it is that the results usually represent a permanent fix.
